Risking over $65,000.....or was it really a risk??
There have been 2 distinct times that I've taken the risk and walked away from the security of a significant amount of money in order to generate the lifestyle I desired and remain in alignment with this desire.
And over the course of the last 4 1/2 years, as being self-employed, one thing holds true.....
As you change your life there will be struggle first, then progress, and it's all oh-so worth it.
I feel that it can be very easy to fall into the security trap and then lose sight of what you truly desire in life. This loss of vision results in making decisions that are not in alignment with your desire/lifestyle/goals etc....
Here's the tragedy that comes with this, stay too long in that security trap and you will completely suppress your ultimate desire in order to ease the pain of not living in alignment with your true desires and purpose in life.
You become unwilling to take a risk because you foresee the immediate loss that will come with the risk. Never allowing yourself to foresee the progress/gain that will come in the future. (Struggle then progress)
I struggled with this myself not too long ago when I was looking at walking away from over $65,000/yr of security, because it was not in alignment with my dream lifestyle and life mission. However, all I could see was the immediate loss = $65,000. It just seemed too immediate and too large. But then I had a brief conversion with another entrepreneur that changed it all.
All that was required was a simple shift in mindset.
Rather than looking at it in a way of losing $65,000, look at it as investing $65,000 in myself. That's how much I'm investing in myself. That's all it took and I made the decision. I chose to bet on myself and invest in myself (big time) because I know that it's the best investment and bet you can make.
This goes along with another saying: nothing worthwhile comes without struggle or risk.....
So what does your dream lifestyle actually look like?
Are you currently in alignment or on the path that will lead to such a lifestyle?
Are you selling your dreams, desires and life for security and/or a certain amount of immediate $? Is that number worth it?
How much are you worth? How much will you invest in yourself, family and dreams?
Believe it. You, are the best investment that you can make, along with the best bet that you can make.
