Summary:
When we think about losing weight, getting more fit or adapting a healthier lifestyle, we often build up this massively false story. A story that we're going to have to completely overhaul our entire lives. We think we're going to have to give up everything that we "like." Our favorite foods, the alcohol, the social events, the deserts, the ice-cream....You name it, we will think of the pain of having to CHANGE.
Well, that's entirely false and simply a story that we create which keeps us dead in our tracks and never taking that first step towards our desires.
The truth is that it takes just a few minor adjustments to your nutrition, training or lifestyle to begin to see real change, progress, and success.
One simple, but highly effective nutrition strategy that you can immediately implement that will not require you to completely transform your lifestyle is:
TIP:
- No carbs during your last meal of the day. Simply have a healthy protein source and veggie source. I love salmon and asparagus. As an "appetiser" I'll have some broccoli and/or carrots (limited carrots) dipped in hummus.
- If you already cut major carbs from you night meal, but you have the typical Americanized breakfast of cereal or granola bars or oatmeal or pancakes or toast or pastry....cut those things out and have a protein and fat source. I love whole eggs, YES keep the yolk.
So next time you think about cutting some body fat and leaning out, don't overthink it and don't build up a self-defeating story. The key is to commit to making a small change/modification and then STICKING to it. Consistency is what separates disappointment from success.
